My name is Janine Miller and I am originally from South Africa. I have lived in the UK and I now live in Sweden. As a result, I am familiar with the emotional and practical challenges of moving to and settling in a new country. I am passionate about helping people to make lasting, positive changes in their lives and always aim to support you with the deepest respect and compassion.
About me and my practice
Most people know that something needs to change in their lives but can find it hard to work through issues on their own. Therapeutic support can help to untangle the muddle in our minds and in our hearts so that you feel more in control and at ease with your life choices.
Focus areas could include: recent or past trauma (complex/developmental trauma), relationships, codependency, communication difficulties, neurodivergence (such as ADHD, autism), burn out, life transitions, parenting, chronic pain and physical health.
I work online with adults, either in one-to-one sessions or in groups.
I currently have availability in my two groups:
- Adult diagnosed/identified women on Mondays
- Gentle healing for complex trauma on Tuesdays
Please contact me to find out more.
Experience
While I am experienced in working with a range of client experiences such as depression and anxiety, I am particularly interested in complex trauma, difference & diversity, diagnosed and undiagnosed neurodivergence (including ADHD & autism) and most things related to the human psyche.
I have been supporting mental health concerns since 2005. In the UK I trained as a Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapist and counsellor. This has given me a deep psychological understanding that underpins my approach to supporting others.
My experience has been in the following settings:
- my own private practice
- providing both individual and group therapy with non-profit mental health charities
- play therapy with children in primary schools
- couples therapy
- managing a therapeutic community supporting individuals to live independently as they transition from a mental health hospital to home.
